Japan victorious at the 10th Evian Championship Juniors Cup

On the occasion of its 10th edition on 20 and 21 September, the Evian Championship Juniors Cup welcomed 17 teams and 68 participants to the course at the Evian Resort Golf Club.

After two days of competition, Japan won the 10th Evian Championship Juniors Cup. The land of the rising sun took first place ahead of Spain, followed by France 3rd.

The young French player, Lucie Malchirand was the top in the girls' rankings with a score of 140 (-2), one shot ahead of Arina Hiraki of Japan. On the third step of the podium, America's Brianna Navarosa and Spain's Caroline Lopez-Chacarra, both on 145 (+3).

As for the boys, Japan's Ryo Hisatsune takes first place with a final score of 139 (-3) followed by his compatriot and defending champion Mahiro Sanda on 142 (E). Spanish player Luis Montojo joins them on the podium.

Matteo Cristoni performed exceptionally well on the second round, carding 64 (-7)! This score places the young Italian at the foot of the podium.

The 10 editions of the Evian Championship Juniors Cup have brought some of today's talents to light, pros including Jordan Spieth (world n°3), Justin Thomas and Xi Yu Lin, as well as some of the leading amateurs such as Leona Maguire, Mathilda Cappeliez and Albane Valenzuela. 

Let's keep an eye on these young champions who were offered a lifetime membership card for the Evian Resort Golf Course at the prize-giving ceremony.
