Despite a lackluster performance (43rd place), Lydia Ko receives the Rolex Annika Major Award which rewards the player who performed most consistently during the Grand Slam events. Winner of the ANA Inspiration at the start of the season, the New Zealander was only defeated in a play off at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship and was on the third step of the podium at the Ricoh Women's British Open. Not to mention her silver medal won in Rio.
The other contenders for the RAMA, Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn and the young Canadian Brooke Henderson, world number 2 and 3 in the world rankings, this week managed to make it into the top 10, in 9th place, without having been center stage.
